Dear xbox one staff- please stop just jumping in with a forced update while I am watching something on Amazon, Hulu, etc. ,etc. wothout warning or any grace at all. Surely there are humans working there and surely you understand the concept of you are getting
ready for work in the AM here in Silicon Valley and you are watching the news trying to get caught up and suddenly the TV goes blank.

You may even be pulling on your pants and the sudden change may startle you and cause you to look around with some concern on your face but since you are caught off guard you may lose your balance because in a recent conflict you my have been wounded and
one of your legs is a bit wonky. So there you are half dressed pulling on your pants when Microsoft jumps in and takes control of your rather expensive Tv and home theater, Anyhow, you lose your balance and fall over and as you fall you try to catch yourself
and in the process knock over the coffee (because it is the morning) and now your wife enters the room and sees you laying there pants half on and covered in coffee.

She laughs at you and now you have to clean up put in new clothes and get laughed at. It is 2018 pls freakin figure out a way to NOT do an update while someone is watching a show. I know you cannot control me falling or changing clothes or being laughed
at but you CAN make it so updates are not intrusive I know this because I have worked in tech here in Silicon Valley for a long time and I know you do not have to force quit someone’s programming.

So STOPPIT.

And ntw your virtual assistant while cheerful asks me to type some stuff in but your UI doesn’t give me the ability to type so she sits there mocking me asking me to give her some info but I can’t and you as humans can probably realize that might be frustrating
after the above detailed debacle.

That is all carry on.

I lied one more thing- STOP INTERRUPTING SHOWS FOR A FORCED UPDATE. Figure out how to do it when I am not using it which is MOST OF THE DAY.

I'm just wasting all the money I spent on coins and tickets etc, because of having connection problems during games. Now I can't even get into bingo! Are you going to reimburse us? no I don't think so. Get your flipping act together please!!!

Also when you can get back online make sure you go to the settings app and set your xbox as your home console. If you do that your games will work next time you are offline(apart from the multiplayer mode obviously)

Set your console to instant on mode and the updates will usually happen when you're not using it and you will never notice them.

Thank you for all the replies, but I still cannot make my xbox set as home, so I may just try one last time and try contacting Xbox Support and see if they can be of any help...

I understand that you are frustrated but they are trying to do the best they can. I'm frustrated too but the attacks seem to have long lasting effects on the servers. Hopefully this will not happen again. There is no way technologically they can prevent
this. I'm sorry that you have been trouble contacting support.

Hi there Abdullah welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Unfortunately, no Microsoft employees here, only gamers, but, as someone who had this issue myself I can give a good advice, this occurs due to a licensing issue that is affecting a lot of users! These steps may help! (This hasn't helped all users but at least some have reported ir as a solution)

Open the Settings app it is the gear in the start menu.

Open Accounts

Click Sign-in Options

Scroll down to Privacy

Uncheck "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update and restart."

Restart your PC!

why use the launcher, i use minecraft direct without the launcher, you have the option to install minecraft with or without launcher in the xbox app.
