    Please enable the use of a mouse in Edge on the Xbox!


    I want to make a suggestion.

    I am a teacher and as you probably know, education providers in the UK are all closed and as yet do not have a re-opening date. There is a massive shortage of home devices for students as whole
    families are clambering to use what is often the only lap top, desk top or PC in the home.

    The Xbox One has Microsoft Edge pre-installed which allows students to access their Office 365 for Education accounts, allowing them to complete school work. This is amazing in itself. Millions
    of young people have Xbox devices but, using a USB mouse is currently not enabled within the Edge app on Xbox and using the controller to navigate the app is cumbersome and limits features.

    Please, please please can Microsoft enable the use of a USB mouse for this app. It would change the remote education of millions of young people and families for the better.

    Microsoft is doing so much already but this could change things even more.

    Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Forums!

    We understand this can be frustrating since the Mouse is not recognized when trying to maneuver Microsoft Edge on
    the Xbox One. We have heard there are issues with using the mouse on Microsoft Edge but the keyboard works. We are gathering information on this issue.

    Note: Wired USB mice will work only
    in select games and apps that have enabled mouse navigation. Check your games to see if they offer mouse input.
    Try to
    configure your mouse     in Settings > Kinect & devices.There are options
    for pointer speed and swapping primary and secondary mouse buttons.

    Xbox supports USB keyboard and mouse, so try to connect a USB mouse and check if you can drag and drop elements in Microsoft Edge.

    Mahjong runs poorly

    I had this problem, too. If you are using your laptop's touchpad, that may be what is causing this. Mahjong will pause if you swipe the touchpad from the right edge to the left. Go into your Control panel -> Mouse and in the touchpad setting uncheck "enable
    edge swipes".

    How is it MS Edge for Xbox isn't the first thing to have mouse support?

    • You can’t use a mouse on Home or within the Xbox user interface while navigating the dashboard.
    • You’ll need to use your controller to configure your mouse. Settings does not support mouse interaction.
    • A mouse will not work in Edge, which already has an on-screen cursor.
