I do understand your frustration in regards to sending out the console, and missing out on gameplay during that time. I've personally been through the same issue.

As stated in the
Microsoft Service Agreement:

(6.) Service Availability.

"b. We strive to keep the Services up and running; however, all online services suffer occasional disruptions and outages, and Microsoft is not liable for any disruption or loss you may suffer as a result. In the event of an outage, you may not be able to
retrieve Your Content or Data that you’ve stored. We recommend that you regularly backup Your Content and Data that you store on the Services or store using Third-Party Apps and Services."

Whether your console is being sent for repair or there is an outage, Microsoft may not cover missed time.

Although if you would still like to contact customer support for assistance in this matter or in regards to console issues or general questions please feel free to do so.

Sorry to hear that you had to send your console in for a repair. You will have to speak/chat with a support agent to see if they will give you a Gold extension for the period that you were unable to use your console during your subscription period. It helps
if you are nice when describing your problem to them and when asking for the extension.
