Playstation allows hard disk games to be used as digital games during the first download of the hard disk game. They give players an option to install digital version of game to ONLY one profile. WHY HASN'T XBOX DONE THE SAME?

Microsoft can limit people using games they haven't paid for by following PlayStation policy of one account ONLY use for hard disk to digital copy.

On my PlayStation 5 I've inserted hard disk I purchased at the location store. Upon inserting the disk for the first time it gives an option to download the digital game license ONLY for one account profile.

Why hasn't XBOX delivered on this feature?

Does PlayStation have copyright rights to this feature and Microsoft had to buy this from PlayStation in order to provide it to Xbox customers?

I'm a hard core XBOX player.

I barley use my PlayStation 5 over my Xbox.

It's just sad Microsoft hasn't resolved this by now and it's almost 2023

Microsoft DID try this already back when the Xbox One was announced and they reversed that decision due to the amount of community backlash they got.

Gamers cried out against this.

The idea isn't new

And defeats the purpose of home console

Not only that but xboxs method was better

Not only can you resell the disk but you can lend your disk out without leaving your couch

Despite this the sticking point of it was everyone wanted to freely give their disks out

Oh wait are you talking about sony smart delivery ya hate to burst your bubble xbox has smart delivery on even triple A titles like most recently resident evil games

Ps 5 no longer supports it for free and charges anywhere from ,10 bucks or full price (the last of us 1 ) for digital upgrades

Horizon the forbidden west was the last title that supports what you are thinking of

Only after sony fans protested and even then sony would only do it for 1 game

Grand turismo (the very buggy and always online game )was the first title that charged 10 bucks or have the dual gen copy for 10 bucks more
