Playstation 4 controller not detected through USB on HP victus laptop with Windows 11

You would need to install the generic gamepad driver

To.use the full functions of a dual shock controller you need to install.steam.or ds4win

This.is.because sony doesn't make native.controller drivers.for .competition they use third parties like steam or ds4win

Also the steps seems to lead back to windows 10 which I don't wanna do because I don't have a USB Driver at the moment to keep my personal files intact.

I have repaired and still repair hp laptops among all other manufacturer types too, this is all too common with HP. Have you by chance upgraded to windows 11, if so, go back to windows 10 as a lot of hp drivers are simply not ready or outright do not work with windows 11 properly.

if that fails then either the paste on the gpu is dry and cracking or the gpu is failing, also a common issue on these laptops.
