Playing offline Xbox Series X

I’m looking into getting an Xbox series X to take with me onboard ship where I work. I will have the game pass ultimate subscription service. Does the Xbox need to be connected to the internet (it is sometimes sketchy and sometimes not available onboard) to play offline content on downloaded games?

Might sound like a silly question but I’m relatively new to this.

No my Xbox series x is online and on the same network as my Xbox one and my Xbox series x is set as my home Xbox

The game works in offline mode, but only for games purchased on your account.

Unfortunately gamepass games are not playable offline

I've played this game on Xbox series X since release it's only been in the last 24 hours that it's said I'm offline on cod says everyone else is offline too this is not an internet issue as I jumped on rainbow 6 siege and the cross play on there works fine needs to be fixed asap

On the Series X? No, it's not possible, as they are not backward compatible. On the Xbox One, you will be able to play offline if you have the games on disc. If they are digital downloads of the game, then you will need to stay logged in to Xbox Live on the Xbox One while playing those games.
