Playing multiplayer Halo on 2 linked XBox Ones

Hi,

I have been looking for instructions on linking 2 XBox Ones to be able to play multiplayer Halo Master Chief Collection up to 8 players over two TVs locally only. I am a grown up with real responsibilities and don't have the time, or desire to play online.
I simply want to get a group of people together periodically to play. We can link through a router or directly, but haven't been able to figure out how to make it work. Can it be done, and how do we set it up? I've come across articles online that lead
me to think both it is, and isn't possible. If you could point me towards instructions, that would be a big help. I have not been able to find any yet that covered all steps needed. Thank you!

Windows live issue linked to xbox live

Hey, today when i tried to play halo 2 multplayer for the PC, it said i needed a gold membership, i NEVER needed this before untill i linked my windows live account with my xbox live account, this doesnt seem fair that people that do not have an xbox get
free access to multiplayer on halo 2 pc while if u've linked it you must pay for gold to play on that account.

Like i said i NEVER needed gold before, i played it for 2 years before i ever owned an xbox...please help? anyone?

Rumored XB1 - The Master Chief Collection

im already planning on buying this game anyway... solely for the playing of halo 2 anniversary multiplayer....

Hey there, unfortunately, LAN play is not an option all consoles involved would need access to the internet where you can setup a custom game over live.

First buy Halo: CE Anniversary. It is a remake of the first Halo game with updated graphics.

Halo 2 is backwards compatible on 360 so you can buy the original version and it will play after an update. (You can't play Halo 2 multiplayer anymore though).

ODST comes with 2 discs. One disc is a campaign that takes place between Halo 2 and 3, you play as an ODST soldier instead Master Chief. The second is Halo 3 multiplayer but has all of the downloadable maps included on disc.

All online multiplayer, Fortnite, Halo, GTA V RDR 2 require an active Gold membership or have one account sharing gold on the Xbox(set to home) to play online multiplayer.

Halo 2 will return but it wont be supportive of Multiplayer for Xbox Live. As far as playing the game online Halo 2 for PC is the best option and private servers, other than that Halo 2 wont make a return.

It would make sense to release an anniversary edition of Halo 2 as the game was a beachhead to Microsoft's Xbox live success. Yes there were other multiplayer games but Halo 2 revolutionized it as everybody that could at the time wanted to play Halo 2 on
Xbox live. Heck I wanted to play Halo 2 matchmaking on Xbox Live even though Broadband wasn't even available were I was in the world and dial up was king. I reckon they should bring an anniversary edition to the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.
