Playing games offline \ home Xbox question

I currently have two Xbox Series X. One of them is set to Home at the moment, the one which my boy plays on. This is so he can play the games I buy without me having to sign in.

I have our old Xbox One which I would like to take camping with us in the campervan and play games when we’ve got an electric hookup. I will not be connecting it to the internet at all. If my understanding is right, to do this I need to:

Temporarily set the Xbox One to Home.

Download the games I want to play.

Set the Xbox One to offline.

Set my boy’s Xbox Series X back to Home.

Will that work? The Xbox One will not be connected to the internet again, all games will be played offline. They will be games I have purchased, no subscription-based games.

With regards to the digital licenses, will these need to renewed at all? I have been advised that they run for 30 days and then need to be renewed, but I'm unsure if this is just subscription based games or purchased games as well.

But how would it "know" it's not the Home Xbox anymore if it is taken offline when set to Home and not connected again?

My understanding is that if you set the Xbox One to home and then set it as offline, that is how you are meant to play games offline. When you say you have to log in after a few days, why exactly? Sort of defeats the object. How many is a few days? Is it to check licenses? If so, what is the timeframe?

I really do appreciate the response and I'm sorry for the questions. It's just that I can't find any concrete answers and every response I'm kindly given sounds like guesswork. Nobody can give me a definitive answer.

I am going to try it to be honest, I'm just really surprised that there isn't much info on it though.

As far as I know that won't work. The Xbox One will have to remain the Home Xbox even though the Xbox One will be offline. It does require you to log in to Xbox Live again after a few days.

Try it first at home, to see if it works. At least then, you will know if it does or not.

Obsessive Power

To play your digital games offline, the console you wish to use them must be the home console for your account. You must set the home console while connected to Xbox LIVE. Once the 'Home' console is set, you can play all Xbox One games offline, even the
digital ones.

In regards to the original question about playing BC Xbox 360 games offline, the answer is yes. You can play Xbox 360 games offline too. How do I know? I've just tried it with the Xbox Arcade game 'Perfect Dark' and it worked fine.

You can play digital games offline if you are playing those games on your
Home Console. You need internet to download the games of course, but after you have downloaded the games and any available updates, you need to set the console to go offline so it does not try to connect to Xbox Live.

you can play GTA V story mode offline without being connected to the internet.

if it is the digital version then the Xbox has to be the Home Xbox for the account that purchased the game or the profile that purchased the game needs to be signed in.
