Playing a M rateing gaming and banned for trash talking.

What usually happens is when you trash talk its done within the messaging unit of Xbox Live. Yes everyone trash talks but its usually done with voice communications and when you don't like what someone is saying you submit a player review and list it under
"trash talking". Now it is odd to get banned for doing what you did. It would have to go back to how severe the words you used were. For instance, would you find it okay to scream it out in public, etc. Not telling you to do this to avoid future bans but if
you feel like you really need to let some anger out, use the in-game voice communication they're usually not monitored. Again, its about how bad those words were.

Oh, and for the adult games you are playing, it really does not matter as long as you're parents/guardians give you permission, but again who could stop you if you're 17 or not, just look at all the children who play Call of Duty for instance.

 

I remember back in the day, January 2006 and playing cod 2, Americans vs English matches, now that was trash talk, but if we risk doing that these days they would perma ban you for it. I do miss those days and in a way they should have a section of live
for kids and adults.

 

Been there, done that. Find the player mute button and use it. If you don't hear it then they can't push your buttons. Most players don't coordinate with others any ways so there's nothing worth hearing coming form their mouths.

Between friends you can say all kinds of things because you know where each other stands. But among strangers, you don't know what offends the other person. So it's not worth creating for yourself that kind of exposure where the other has cause to report
you.

I bet people are less inclined to plug in their chat headsets because the novelty has worn off.

 

Best to mute yourself on the controller so no one hears ya or stay in a party chat. That's what I do.

 

It also comes down to the rules in the games too. You can report people in Call of Duty games where there are custom emblems/player cards, and you can report offensive emblems and such. There are rules even in M rated games. It's just how it is.

I mainly stick to party chat anyways, and if I'm alone, I don't even put my mic on.

 

Playstation has nearly the exact same rules as Xbox Live. What gets you suspended or banned here will get you suspended or banned on PSN too.

 

The game is rated M because the story is mature and it may have swear words that fit into said story. This has no negative affect on anyone, except for children, hence the mature rating.

"Trash talking", which is probably a light way to put it if someone got banned for it, is talk that's directed at another player in order to negatively impact their play session. It's a form of harassment in many cases, and against the Xbox TOS.

An M rated game, and a verbally abusive player, are two totally different things.

Put it this way, if you walk into a club, (A mature venue where you have to show ID) and start trash talking everyone and being a general nuisance, expect to be kicked out and not allowed back in for a while.

 

Well the rating is for SP the online is unrated and follows the rules MS sets.

yeah i got suspended and i find that to be some major bs since it is an m rated game that i am playing and communicating with. its just political bs from the crying babies out there and microsoft is just giving in. simply put if they dont like trash talking
then mute or block me im not telling them to kill themselves im just calling them bad at the game never bring up race so its all just bs snowflakes crying.

 

First of all you shouldn't of talked back in a aggressive manor, I think you totally deserve the ban. All you do is report them, then mute them. The definition of trash talking is as follow "insulting or boastful speech intended to demoralize, intimidate,

Xbox is filled with snowflakes now days. Even if you didn't start the "fight" you can get the ban. For example, i was recently playing R6 with a buddy of mine and we were in game chat to communicate with our team. At the start of the round our 3 randoms
up and kill us and started laughing. I'm one who stands my ground and wont take crap from "you no what" like them. I end up roasting all of them to later find out i got a coms ban for "trash talking"(I reported them before roasting them) but nothing happened to
them. Note: Xbox enforcement sends a msg saying "Thank you for your submission", this states that enforcement took action on the report. Yet, not once did i get a msg after reporting them. Then out of the blue i was banned from playing on multiplayer cuz of
harassment. Maturity levels on Xbox are utter bull. Xbox enforcement doesn't care about you. They don't bother to assess the situation, only look for terms that violate the T&A. They need to step up and look at the big picture instead of agreeing to something
with out any knowledge. I may end up quitting Xbox and sticking to PC.

 

If anyone tells you they investigate any claims they are a liar. I created an account and reported a friend and the next day he was banned. No reason was given and when he appealed he was told too bad. You are a known troublemaker. Funny thing he has never
been banned before and only had his account for 3 months and only plays borderlands with me. Xbox reporting is broken and one day it will catch up to them. They have given too much power to people that cannot handle it.

 

M rated games (language, violence etc)

When played online, isn't say. Halo 5 a violent game? Guns, gore, kill, Kill, KILL.

How did the gaming industry get around the M ratting? Did they pull a Monsanto and have a paid Judge and appeals Judges to rule that violent games when played online aren't concidered violent anymore, and is now. 'Case law'??

Or to rule. "You agreed" so you no longer have any say no matter what?

How did this rated M game all of a sutten become rated E online? And no. It's NOT for nor to protect kids. Of that we can be certain, otherwise guns, violence, gore, KILL KILL KILL wouldn't be in online gaming.
