Play Astroneer in Coop on Xbox one and PC (windows 10)

Thank you for coming to the forums, I'd be happy to help.

Astroneer is an Xbox Play Anywhere game and is capable of cross-play between a Windows 10 PC and an Xbox One. I don't believe the family account is the issue I think it's just how many devices you have an account signed into.

Which account and to who is the error message telling to switch devices? Is it to you while playing on your account on the PC, or is your son getting the message on his Xbox?

I think you may be getting that message because the account you have on the PC and the Xbox is signed into the Xbox when you try to play co-op on the PC with the same account. The Xbox can have multiple accounts sign in concurrently that you can switch between
at anytime. Even if an account is not being used on the Xbox, it can still be signed in in the background. This can happen if you need to sign in to let your child accounts sign into the Xbox if you have those privacy settings on.

Just make sure the account you are using on the PC is not signed into the Xbox. Hit the Xbox button and scroll to the left until you get to the Sign in tab. Go to Switch profile and see if the account is singed in. If it is, sign out from the Xbox and try
inviting each other again to a co-op lobby through the Xbox app or on the Xbox One.

First, very sorry that i havent answered earlier!

That help you gave us helped! My son said he wanted to kiss you because of your help!

The problem was that my accout was in the background on the XBOX, when we shut it down we could open the game on each device (PC and XBOX). As you suggested.

We had one more issue after that though. First we couldnt find each other i the co-op meny. But then i noticed that the account i used wasnt friend with my sons account on the XBOX. We thought we were, but there was a block because of the settings in one
of the accounts, he wasnt aloud to become friends with anybody because of parentel settings i had choose for him. When i fixed that it worked.

As you already probebly have understod, im not a fan of all the account issues on the XBOX. I think they are very difficult to use.

im trying to play astroneer on xbox with my friend but It gives cant connect to host error in windows 10 you fix it by using the xbox networking tab but there isnt a article that helps about in windows 11
