    Hey fellow gamers,

    I'm pretty sure I've found a severe bug (although one could argue that it's just a oversight) and I think there should be something done about it. I finished my previous Forza Horizon 4 season on PC, I quit the game, the save was flushed to the cloud, all
    well and good. Then after two days I started FH4 on my Xbox Series X and got Quick Resumed to the game. I was greeted to a weird state of game, incorrect season, wrong car, etc. - it was from the last time I've played on Xbox Series X. So I restarted the game
    thinking it will just sync up the save and all be good. But it sure wasn't. When I quit the game on Xbox, that particular incorrect save state was flushed to the cloud and I've lost:

    • progress (and completition) of that particular season,
    • cars that I've acquired and already put to auction,
    • money (but whatever).
    There can be some mitigation for this problem that I can think of top of my head:

    1. Allow optional disabling of Quick Resume for Forza Horizon 4 (and all Play Anywhere titles for the same reason).
    2. Make sure games can sync up the save (reload) after being Quick Resumed.
    I'm pretty sure I just lost the progress forever and there cannot be something done about it, but I would like this to be a lesson for everybody that enjoys the privilege to play their favorite games on multiple devices.

    Yes. Since it's a Play Anywhere title, it supports cross-saves, so you'll be able to keep your progress.

    Quick Resume is especially problematic with FH5...for the 30 seconds it saves, it's just not worth the aggro, especially when people have lost entire saves through using it

    You can only use the same save file if a game is play anywhere ie playable across devices such as pc and xbox.

    A game being available on both xbox and pc is not the same as a play anywhere title and so the saves and progress would be seperate

    As far as I'm aware this game is not play anywhere

    Based on support article, it should have been that the console can at lease save more than 3 titles. However, you may be unable to go back to your saves when you have less memory.

    Quick Resume feature allows the Series X|S consoles to store three save states for full-memory Xbox Series X|S titles. Xbox One, Xbox 360, and original Xbox console titles use less memory, so the consoles can store more than three when these titles are saved.
