Pip boy app not connecting to Xbox one

so I downloaded the app for my iPad 2 mini. Can't seem to get it to connect. Smart glass app connects no problem. Pip boy app sees my xbox one on the network. Click on that and it takes me to the Microsoft login page. I input my email and password then click
login. Comes up saying it cant connect to check settings yadda yadda. In game settings have pip boy app enabled. Both are connected to same (isp modem) wifi connection. I have Xbox one ports open in router as well. Restarted iPad and Xbox one. Reloaded with
same results. Just not sure what I'm missing here. Ideas anyone?

    :)

    Pip Boy app not connecting

I have tried all of these suggestions and none of them worked for me. If anyone has anything new to try out I’m all ears. Been wanting to use the app but can’t. I like playing the games on it when I’m away f on the wasteland.

    That's not a Pip-boy... That's Vault Boy.

It won't connect until you interface with some pipboy panel within the game as you are about to exit the vault.

I'm already outside of the vault and have the pip boy. Im thinking with as many others that are having this issue that it's something wrong in the app settings/programming. I've even checked my router settings to ensure the ap isolation is turned off which
I read it needs to be. Shouldn't be this difficult to connect. Not sure why Xbox smart glass connects instantly with no issues but this app does. More reason I believe it's an issue with the pip boy app.

I'm using a windows phone with the same issue. Simply won't connect. Smartglass and game streaming both find the xbox just fine.

So I solved the issue. On your xbox go to setting>network settings>advanced settings then scroll down to clear secondary mac address. After selecting that it will tell you it needs to restart the xbox. Select yes. Load the game. Load the app. All connects
    fine now.

I tried Scarecrow419's suggestion with no luck. It's fairly frustrating that I cannot get this app to work when SmartGlass works without any issues. If there are any other suggestions for a fix I'm all ears.

this may be redundant but you do also have to have a game save/file open for them connect.

i've had no issues, thankfully. its a fun little app but i've realized that its not a "live" product. It doesn't update manually. so say you have a game going. you play for a couple hours. if you don't reconnect/re-sync the app to the game file it
won't update your stats, inventory, etc. maybe this is the reason?

  11. I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this, or maybe it's obvious, but hopefully you realize your console has to be online/connected to internet for it to work. So just check your connection.

Had problems after I started another game, got to level 10 and realized I didn't like the way I was character building, but after turning off my phone and then re-downloading the app, got it working just fine..the more I use it the more I am realizing how
    handy it can be...

  13. Pip boy app not connecting to Xbox one

Oh, it's extremely handy. I don't like using the in-game pipboy. If you change the color of it in game settings, it also changes the app color. Everything is connected. It's really very well done.

Thank you, got mine working on my iPad mini by clearing the second MAC address as suggested.

Very useful app using the map and switch weapons is much easier.

    Thanks again

  15. Not sure if anybody has tried this: on your console go to Settings>All Settings>Preferences>Xbox app connections and change that to "Allow connections from any device".
