    Ping High on XBOX Series S even on ethernet connection


    Doing some testing on my xbox and noticed my latency was pretty high for some reason (between 53-60, even hit 101 on one test) I checked on my laptop and I am on 12 ms ping. I have gone through QoS settings, messed around with different dns, but nothing seems to change it. I have swapped out ethernet cables as well and nothing changes. not sure if this is what everyone is experiencing, or if there's a setting I'm missing or what.

    It could be due to internet congestion and high ping. Try to do a Speddtest on your line. It also verifies that the connection between the console and router is made with an Ethernet cable.

    No lag with Ethernet or high ping , I only get high ping on WiFi it’s bad on 2.4gh and only slightly better on 5gh. On PlayStation and other devices I have no issues whatsoever

    I am on 270 ms and I don't know why. I use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for my dns setting but I still lag to the point I can't play. I am on the Xbox series s is that makes any difference.

    well, 2 MB/s shouldn't be a problem as i believe it only take 1MB/s to play effectively online, which means it is probably a ping issue, therefor i would advice you to also check your ping on your pc as well, if it is also abnormally high then it is your
    routers problem and not your xbox's. however if it is just your xbox, all i can suggest is calling your internet provider to see if they can help, or plugging in your xbox to your router via Ethernet.

    Your speeds are fine. That ping is rather high, however I wouldn't go with what it says here. Go to www.speedtest.net and see what your results are here.

    The ping is a time measured in milliseconds a chunk of data goes back and forth between your device and the server being pinged. I'm not sure what server/s Xbox One uses to test a ping. If the server is in the U.S and you are in Europe for example, the
    ping will always be high, no matter how fast your connection speed is. Same would be true the other way around. A high ping would also be the case if you were in New York and the Server was in Los Angeles.
