Pier Solar stuck at black screen on launch

I purchased and downloaded Pier Solar for my Xbox 1 online and had it download/install automatically. When I got home and tried to launch it, it shows the title screen, then just gets stuck at a black screen after that. Waited about 20 minutes and nothing
happens. Uninstalled and re-downloaded the game with the same problem. Rebooted console and same issue exists. I've had no issues with any other downloaded games. Just installed DA: Inquisition the other day without any problems.

Any thoughts on how to fix it? Thanks!

Try these steps to see if it helps.

1. Head to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray

2. Click on Clear Persistent Storage 3 times

3. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

I too can confirm that Zombie GT had the correct answer. I uninstalled my profile and re-installed it and the game loaded up fine. Thanks!

 

i have the same problem I hope someone fixes it.

 

Looks like I won the lottery as well. Black screen persists even after a power drain and reinstall of application. Further troubleshooting revealed that you can get to a brief image of a crashed "splash screen" if you try to start the game while signed out
of an account and then sign in from inside the game, but the game still immediately crashes upon sign in.

I wonder what's unique about our consoles that's causing this reaction? What a bummer =(

I figured out how to resolve the "black screen" bug. Thanks go to a post on an xbox achievements website for the fix!!

You'll need to remove your profile from your Xbox One and then re-add your profile. The game works flawlessly after doing this. In other words, it appears the issue is somehow related to individual profiles.

I hope this helps someone out!!

Does doing this make you have to redo all of your console settings?

 

I am experiencing the same problem. For troubleshooting purposes...

Day One console, all games installed to the external drive. Tried hard reboot, tried moving game to the internal drive, no luck. Going to try to re download my profile as suggested in this thread.

 

I tried starting game without a profile logged then appears a ingame message asking for login profile. When login black screen again.

Day One console, Preview Program.

Hope another fix appear, I dont want to redownload my profile.

 

I didn't want to re-download my profile either, but after hours dealing with Xbox Support, it was the last option. Re-downloading your profile is quick and easy. You don't have to redo any of your settings.

 

Worked for me. Only setting i have to check again was "auto sign-in"

 

Removing user from Xbox then signing back in with Microsoft account worked perfectly and fixed the issue. Thanks to Smulia for the suggestion!
