    Permanent Xbox Account Ban


    Greetings, I’ve been an Xbox user for 10+ years. At the beginning of May my outlook email associated with my Xbox account was hacked. I wasn’t aware of the issue until about 7 days later. In that time 1,000s of emails were sent from my account in violation of Microsoft’s terms of service. This resulted in a ban on my Xbox account. I subsequently tried to appeal, but it was denied.

    Since then I worked with Microsoft support to regain control of my hacked email and set up a sign in alias only which has stopped the hacking attempt.

    My Xbox account is still banned. The support person who worked with me to regain access to my account said she would pass my case to someone else on the Xbox side to look into removing the suspension. That was nearly a month ago and I’ve not received any follow up. I’ve tried contacting Microsoft and Xbox support, but because this is an enforcement issue they’ve been unable to help. I’ve also tried leaving feedback with my appeal and haven’t received a response on that either.

    Is there any suggestions on what I should do next to try and get the appeal lifted? How can I contact the enforcement team to file a case number to help resolve this issue? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello!

    Permanent account bans are not given without intense consideration and review. These bans are for extremely severe violations of the Xbox Code of Conduct. Permanent bans are not eligible for review and the only option is to create a new account.

    Purchasing or selling accounts can get you permanently banned.
    Signing in to accounts that are not yours can get you permanently banned.
    Sharing sign in information for accounts can get you permanently banned.

    A permanent suspension means your account has been permanently banned from connected to the Xbox servers.

    Also, if you've been given any "tips" that triggering a short-term ban of the account for offensive Bio content will somehow negate the account's permanent ban, you were told wrong. A permanent ban is permanent.

    No, the ban is imposed on the Microsoft account and will not be lifted when the Xbox One is released as the entire Microsoft account is permanently banned.
