(PC) Xbox Controller Will Turn Off As Soon As Any Button is Pressed

As title says, I have an Xbox Series X controller that I use for my windows desktop with the Xbox Wireless Controller USB adapter.

Recently the controller has been having fits where it will turn off as soon as any button is pressed (joysticks and triggers too). The controller will stay on so long as I don't touch it after I turn it on. Sometimes I can get it to behave again after unpairing and pairing the controller again, or by using the Xbox button. Currently it's not behaving at all and just refuses to stay powered on.

Side Note - I have tried using my old Xbox One X controller with this wireless adapter and it does work without any issue thus far.

Thing's I've tried to troubleshoot this issue include

-New Batteries

-Plugging in via USB and updating firmware

-Re-pairing with the wireless controller adapter

-Using the controller by having it plugged in via USB (This is the only way it stays on)

Thing's I've contemplated to troubleshoot this issue include

-Throw the controller through my window

-Spike the controller into the ground

-Throw the controller in the garbage

-Throw the controller adapter in the garbage

If anyone has the time, energy, or intelligence to help out that would be greatly appreciated.

You have done all the correct fixes and the problem still happens.

So my advise is to contact xbox and request a repair as the controller seems to be faulty. If your controller is under warranty, there wont be a charge, and it will be replaced for free.

You mean from the what do you want to do screen or pressing and holding the guide button 6 seconds till it turns off? Because there's that way of turning off the controller by pressing and holding the guide button 6 seconds till it turns off i believe
that was for the pc because the pc doesn't have the what do you want to do screen options where it says turn off the controller turn off console or restart console so the only option to turn off the controller on pc is pressing and holding guild guide button

Normally , as soon as you turn on the Xbox one (for the 1st time) , you should see on the screen the guide button flashing ( so press it on the controller ) then you should see press A , so controller is sync automatically

After that, you will be able to turn on / turn off the console with your controller.

When your Xbox is on, press and hold the Xbox button on your controller (the button you press to turn the controller and console on) until the controller vibrates, then press the View button (the small button to the left of the Xbox button on your controller).
This should turn off the magnifier.

Ok , I just started mine on 1 player and on the top right of the screen it says (but it is faint if the second controller is off) "press any button to join" .....as soon as I turn on the other controller and hit a button the second player comes in......if
this aint working your second controller may not be synced.....
