PC Xbox app & PS5 dualsense controller.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you want to use your PS5 controller when playing your games from Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox App does not natively support PS5 controllers. However, there are third party controller emulation apps that you can use at your own risk such as DS4Windows or DualSense X to enable your PC to recognize it as an Xbox controller.

It's strange then how windows sees my PS5 controller as a 'DualSense Wireless Controller' isn't it? It's also strange how it works perfectly fine with every other game client I use (Epic, EA, Ubi, GOG) without the need to mask its identity by using DS4. I mean, if there weren't native drivers, as you claim, then it wouldn't work without DS4 period, would it? Yet it does. Just not with the xbox app.

And Steam has had full PS4/5 controller support for years, including haptics and adaptive triggers. In fact, Steam even added native PS3 controller support back in 2017.

Sony doesn't support windows

You need ro download ds4win or steam and run xinput

Nor does sony provide proprietary info to competitors like the recent court cases have proven like ps dev kits and dual sense specs

Steam only recently got the full info from Sony though the beta drivers don't fully support all features of dual sense

The ID name comes in the firmware, that is the wonderful thing about USB. It only needs a generic driver which already comes with the OS. Any OS with USB support will show it with the name, even if it has lost support many years before the device launch, like Windows 98 SE.

Steam support first came from the reverse engineering made in the linux front by the community since the device can be used without too much hassle on a computer, through the hid-sony driver. Just "recently", on christmas eve 2020 sony published an official linux driver the hid-playstation driver, which added support for both the dualsense and the dualshock4, so that's where valve got the info from sony.

The DualShock3 only can be fully used on windows with custom drivers, while native on OS X >=10.7 (dont know the details about this, but it might have been an integration from the code from the BSD kernel into XNU), or linux in >=3.15 kernel

The same problem here using PS5 Dualsense, the mouse cursor appeared on the left side of the screen and I can't play the game anymore, the controller doesn't work.

I tried to contact Xbox Support, but they don't know how to help.

I've played with Dualsense for a week without any problem.

Probably we will have to wait for the Mouse / Keyboard support on Cloud Gaming or try to create a new Xbox account.
