[PC Problem] Xbox app/Xbox game bar Is making my microphone in the parties sound glitchy

Seems like I fixed the problem, it was something with my mic Hz in the sound settings and I changed it to one of them till my mic stopped glitching but I don't know if they messed something else up and only fixed the Xbox party.

1. We would like to if you can test your microphone through the pre-installed voice recorder app of Windows device? Please try to use the app while all the Xbox apps are closed. So, there is an isolation of the issue that will happen.

3. Have you tested another microphone or headset if the issue persists?
   
4. Do you mind sharing a sample of the glitchy of your microphone's output voice?

I understand that you are experiencing issues with your Xbox Party on Windows PC.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please check microphone permissions. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone on your PC. Make sure that microphone access is enabled for apps, including the Xbox app and Xbox Game Bar.

And then verify audio device settings by right-clicking the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sound Settings. Under Input, make sure the correct microphone is selected and test it to confirm it’s working.

Next is to update audio drivers. To do this, open Device Manager and expand Audio Inputs and Outputs. Right-click your microphone and select Update Driver. Choose Search Automatically for Updated Drivers.

Then reset the Xbox App. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, find the Xbox app, and select Advanced Options. Click Repair and then Reset. Do the same for the Xbox Game Bar.

Firewalls or antivirus software can interfere with Xbox Party connections temporarily disable them and try joining a party again.

Kindly check Xbox Network Settings. Open the Xbox app and go to Settings > Network. Make sure that your NAT type is Open. If it’s not, restart your router or configure port forwarding for Xbox Live services.

If the issue persists after performing the steps, uninstall and reinstall the Xbox app from the Microsoft Store.

Then, click on the "Recording" tab and make sure that your microphone is selected and set as the default device.



2. Check your privacy settings: Make sure that the Xbox app has access to your microphone. To do this, go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and make sure that the toggle switch for "Allow apps to access your microphone" is turned on. Windows Settings > Privacy > Microphone and make sure Xbox Game Bar and Xbox Console Companion are allowed to access your microphone.



3. Check your Xbox app settings: Open the Xbox app and go to Settings > General > Volume & audio output. Make sure that your microphone is selected as the default recording device and that the volume is turned up.



4. Update your audio drivers: Make sure that your audio drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the manufacturer's website and downloading the latest drivers for your specific model.

5. Check Game Bar: Game bar app and go to Settings. Under Audio, make sure that the correct microphone is selected as the default device. Exit the Game bar app and open the Xbox app. Go to Settings and select Devices & streaming. Under Audio, make sure that the correct microphone is selected as the default device. Test your microphone in the Xbox app to see if your party can hear you without the Game bar app open.
