    PC GamePass Uncompressed Data Problem


    Fact that the games I download from Gamepass are uncompressed causes time and internet loss.



    For example Atomic Heart In Microsoft Store download size is 76 GB. But the download size on Steam is about 39 GB.

    Microsoft is a big company but can you add LZMA2 compression like Steam?

    That's the thing. I didn't personally remove any save data from the PC. Yet I am unable to find any old files that fit the bill. It's like gamepass for PC also removes the save file upon the uninstallation of a game.

    The reason it was so big on PC is apparently due to approximately 35Gb of uncompressed audio.

    Are you on Windows 10 or 11? When did this issue start to occur?

    Make sure to check for your Windows updates and also get all available updates on your Microsoft Store.

    If everything is up-to-date, let's reinstall your Gaming Services app:

    Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

    In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

    In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
    Restart your device.
