PC Game Pass, your thoughts and experiences?

Hi folks,

I've recently ended my Game Pass ultimate, not because I don't
like it, indeed on console it's great and works fine. I primarily ended it
because I don't like how it works on PC.

Of all the digital download services on PC, Xbox Game Pass has to
be the worst, sorry but it just is.

Games install to 'WindowsApps' folders which are protected/locked
and encrypted. All other PC download services with the exception of GoG
use DRM, but Microsoft has taken DRM to the next level. Want to fix a broken
game or make a change to way it runs? Forget it. Want to make a game run
better? Forget it. Unless a game has a ini file outside of the encrypted folder
you can't change or fix it.

Also certain Windows 10 operating system updates have broken
games. Gears of War Ultimate hasn’t had a stable 60fps for years, no matter
what PC you run it on. My Forza 7 now stutters when it used to run fine.

In addition to not be allowed to change settings, the above-mentioned
encryption is extremely strict. If you need re-install Windows 10 from scratch,
your games will need to be re-downloaded, even on the same PC. Which means if
you’ve got a few hundred GB of titles you’ll have no choice in re-downloading
them all over again.

What are your thoughts and experiences of Game PC on the PC
platform?
