    It mostly happens when playing the game "Rust"

    It starts with the computer cursor slowing down/lagging then the entire pc freezes (i can still hear sound in discord/youtube etc and sometimes video keeps playing for abit) and the only solution is to force turn off the pc with the power button.

    Some of the things i've tried;

    - Turn off hardware acceleration on chrome, discord, spotify etc.

    - Disable MPO

    - Auto RAM settings

    - BIOS update\base settings

    - Win10 and Win11

    - Turn off hardware accelerated GPU scheduling

    - Updating drivers

    - MemTest

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

    MB: ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F

    Ram: Kingston FURY Beast RGB DDR5 6000Mhz 32GB

    GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4070 GAMING X SLIM

    PSU: Corsair RM1000x Shift 1000W PSU

    SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB SSD

    I understand that you are having trouble on pc freeze when you play Rust, and I understand your confusion.



    According to your description, your computer freezes while you are playing this game and I see that you have tried a lot of troubleshooting methods, which is commendable, other than that, you can also try the following methods to solve this problem:

    • Deactivated all Windows 11 gaming improvements.

      Win key + X > System > Play > Deactivate game mode.

      Graphics > Deactivate optimization for windowed display mode.

      Below: Advanced graphics settings > Deactivate hardware accelerated GPU planning
    • Disable Overlays and Background Applications:

      Disable any overlays from NVIDIA, Discord, or other applications as they can cause issues.

      Open NVIDIA GeForce Experience, go to Settings > General.

      Toggle off IN-GAME OVERLAY.
    • If you play this game on Xbox app, Log out of your account (Xbox app and Microsoft Store app).

      Open the Microsoft Store by pressing the Windows key + S, typing Microsoft Store, and then selecting App settings.

      Click Repair, then click Reset the app.

      Repeat the same process for the Xbox app.

      Reboot your device.

      After restoring and resetting both apps, restart your device.

      Sign in to the Xbox app and Microsoft Store again using the same email.

      You will need the Xbox app to install the game.
