My son loves he's xbox and of course unlike ps4 we have to pay for xbox live to play games like fortnight so I always pay my subscription but what takes the biscuit is when I payed my subscription on the 30th of September and then go to the bank today for
MY LAST 10 POUND to find it gone after only 17 days xbox has taken my money despite my live pass not being due for at least 7-10day I'm not a rich person in fact I am a single parent with 3 children I cannot afford a lot so I budget my money and pay monthly
from my wage (which I'm not due now for 3 days) but my son loves hes xbox so he does tasks and helps out to earn he's money on a monthly basis so it is worth it but it is certainly not acceptable to have 2 payments in 17 days I'v tried contacting xbox but
all I'm getting is a stupid robot who it's literally taking me in circles when I ask to speak to a real person it sends me back to the start....

My son has asked for a ps4 and I'm really thinking about it as it don't seem to have issues like this

How to Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

Overview

You can choose to use more than one payment method for your Xbox LIVE account. The payment options include credit cards and PayPal accounts. You can use these payment options to buy items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The 2-year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract uses only credit cards as the payment option. The other payment options like Debit Cards, Prepaid cards and PayPal are not valid for this subscription. However, you can change your payment to another credit card.

If it is before the end of the two years and there is no credit card associated with your account, it is assumed you have terminated the subscription, and you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes.

It is easy to edit your payment options on your console or at Xbox.com

Steps to Follow

Add or change a payment option using your console

1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to Sign in.

2) Proceed to Settings and then select Account.

3) Select Manage Payment Options, and then choose either of the following:

• If you want to add a new credit card, select Add Credit Card.
• If you want to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE, select Add PayPal. You will be required to enter your PayPal username and password. Follow the instructions to add PayPal as a payment option. You cannot use PayPal as a payment option for the 2 year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract. PayPal is not available in all regions.

4) After making changes to payment options, select Update Payment Option.

Add or Change a payment option on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account.

2) Select Payments and Billings and click on Manage Payment Options.

3) You may be required to Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password).

4) Proceed to do either of the following:

If you want to edit a payment option, select Edit.

If you want to add a payment option, you can do either of the following:

• Click on Add New Credit Card and enter the credit card information
• Click on PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions.

 

XOne "Use a different way to pay" problem

Go to billing.Microsoft.com, pull up your account, remove you payment methods, then re-ad your payment methods.

Other then fortnight you do have to pay for subscriptions

For cross platform play you need to pay for a subscription regardless on ps4

(As the Beta requires it a plus subscription)

You are missing iut on great features and some great games not just on xbox but the PS4 that do require a paid subscription

 

So I spent about an hour and a half with live chat for this same issue. Microsoft is bringing all account payment and renewal to land on the same day. Apparently we've been paying for either the previous month or in the middle of the subscription month.
I think just about everyone with an auto pay subscription will be seeing a double charge at transition. I am contemplating going back to pre-paid subscription cards.
