    Pay to return defective controller?


    Why do I have to pay to return a defective controller? I got a controller as part of an xbox one X bundle and the console/accessories are under warranty still. Why don't they do some type of RMA label where the shipping is paid for by Microsoft since they
    sent a defective item?

    I know in time they'll iron the issues out so I'm not worried. I'm not trying to excuse them for launching what seems by most accounts as a sub par product in terms of quality control but it'll be fine in time.

    I did, they are the ones that agreed it was dumb for me to pay, but was curious why a big company like Microsoft can't afford to pay for return shipping on a defective item they sent.

    Are you still able to return it to the store?

    I've personally returned entire consoles to the store because of something minor broken that companies wanted me to spend my own time and money to get an RMA. Let the store deal with that crap, my time is important to me.

    I've had my console serviced and didn't have to pay for postage. May be better to visit a physical store near your place and return.
