Party overlay showing double names

Hello gamers

I have a problem with the xbox gamechat

I hear my own voice always double with a little lag

Can you help me fix this because its pretty anoying when you play together with other peopel

Is this happening all the time, or only when you're in a party or game with certain people? If it happens in Party Chat, have you enabled the party chat overlay that shows you which person in the party is talking? If you haven't done that, try doing that
and see if somebody else's name is lighting up when you're hearing your own voice. If it's your name lighting up, then you should definitely follow Tenjodeslash's advice and test your microphone/headset on other devices to see if it's working fine elsewhere.

Also, it might be worth trying to do a controller update as well.

I've found a fix!

Turn party overlay off and restart your console,

Turn it back on and Turn party overlay back on and it should work again

Hi, I know those overlays are sometimes frustrating but you can disable them. When in a party bring up the party menu and there is a toggle halfway down the screen labeled "Voice Overlay" just disable this toggle and the overlay will not longer display.

This is called a party overlay and can be disabled from going into a party and clicking the ‘Party Overlay’ button, you need to set this to off. If you require any further assistance don’t refrain from asking again

Are you in a party chat? If so, in the Xbox party chat settings, there is a overlay toggle which can switch the overlay on or off.

Outside of party chat, I am not entirely sure how it works with MWII (I assume that's what you are playing).
