Party/Game invites not showing up?

I invite them usually through the Xbox in the party chat or I click their gamer tag and it through that . I also will invite them to game using fornite invites or warzone and it doesn’t work . The option to invite to the game through the party or game tag still shows up as grey and does not let me

The new party/invite system can take a bit to get used to. In Battlefield 4, you can join friends' servers/games-in-progress by going to the Multiplayer screen, they'll show on the right hand side. To invite people to the same servers as you're playing in,
start a party from the Party app, and invite the applicable friends. If you're both not in a match, it'll throw you both into the same server (if there's room). If a friend is in a server, they will receive a pop-up stating that the party leader is joining
'x' server (it'll also show the game mode) and give you the option to join.

In some games if they have their game open to public you will see the option in recent players.In other games you must be in a party with the person before the option to join or invite will show up.

The other person has the option to invite you to game AND party, or game OR party. So if they invite you to both, it will load up the game as well.

Yes, you will. You would just show up as offline to them, unless, you unlock them. And you wont receive any messages and party or game invites from them.
