Party chat on PC will not work.

I have never had this problem before, but when I tried to use the party system with my friends today, I could not hear them nor could they hear me. There was nothing showing that there were any issues, and the app showed me that I was indeed talking, but
we couldn't hear each other. It just showed that they were not speaking. I called one of my friends and he said that he and our other friend were talking and could hear each other fine, but couldn't hear me. I tried using the xbox game bar along with the xbox
companion app, but neither of them worked. I've tried a few things to fix it, including restarting the apps and my computer and checking the privacy settings to making sure the apps weren't being blocked. The network seems fine as well. I'm not sure whats
going on, and I need help fixing it.

You can Private Chat between the 360 and PC but if you can't join a Party on your PC.

Try to manage your Xbox privacy settings.

Sign in to your Microsoft account at Xbox.com.

Select your gamertag, and then select the More actions button (…).

Select Xbox settings, and then select Privacy & online safety.

Note Because you’re accessing sensitive info, you may have to enter your password or PIN.

Select either the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tab or the Privacy tab.

Review the current settings and update all of the option as "Allow" and "Everyone" and then select Submit to save the changes.

Note You must select Submit at the bottom of the page before leaving or switching to another tab. If you don't submit the changes before you move to the other tab, your changes won't be saved.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please verify microphone permissions by opening Windows Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. Ensure the Xbox app and Game Bar have permission to access your microphone.

And then check Xbox App audio settings. To do this, open the Xbox app > Click on your profile picture > Settings. Under Devices & Streaming, ensure the correct microphone is selected.

Next is to reset Xbox App and Game Bar. Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.

Find Xbox app and Game Bar, click Advanced Options, then select Reset.

Then run Windows audio troubleshooter. Do this by going to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters. Run the Recording Audio troubleshooter.
