    Do you mean in game chat or party chat? If you mean party chat then its probably just party chat being broken as usual. My advice make a skype account for both of you and use that because my buddy and I find its the only reliable voice communications on
    the One.

    Ok I just found the answer. party chat will be disabled . man this blows. hopefully we can be signed in on another controller with another gold account and still use party chat.

    WHY DO I NEED TO TURN ON PARTY CHAT!!!

    MS should upgrade all xbox live accounts to premium skype to allow for group chat. Scrap this party chat.

    Discord keeps disconnecting on Xbox

    Hi, if you try unlinking the accounts and use the Xbox party chat separately (while your Discord account is unlinked)

    The issue persists?

    And, do you have another Microsoft account?
    If yes, can you try using the party chat feature with that account in your console?
    (Or if you don't mind please create a new account for this purpose)

    Out of curiosity have you tried using party chat at all?

    On the 360 my partner and I would game split screen and be chatting with friends in a party, this is assuming your friend has his own account.
