Party Chat Not Wokring!

i just recently got the xbox series s, when i put my headset on the new controller it was working perfectly fine. The game audio was loud, i could hear my friends in the party chat which also was loud. My controller then disconnected due to low battery, so i got my Xbox one controller connected to the series s and was playing on that due to me not having any battery or charger for the new controller. Whilst playing i didn't have my headset connected. But the following day once i had got new batteries for my Xbox series s controller, i put it in and connected the headset and i couldn't hear any of my friends in the party. i could see their gamer tag icon moving, which was indicating that they're speaking however i couldn't hear them at all. And my mic was working as every time i spoke my gamer tag icon came up and i know my friends could hear me as they had messaged me but i cant hear them what so ever. i thought maybe it was the headset/mic which was the issue, however don't think this is the case, as ive plugged it into my laptop and its really loud, and also when playing xbox when changing the settings to play game audio i can hear it and it is extremely loud. But even when i put the party chat audio to full volume and put each one of my friends at 200 volume level in the party. i can hear them some times i can hear them ever so quietly, but it is very quiet and faint although i have all the sounds full for the part. i have adjusted all the settings for chat mixer, and making sure no sounds are mute and have looked at all videos online to see what i can do. but i cant seem to resolve this matter.

Please can you help me resolve this matter, as i haven't been able to speak properly or play with my friends since this has occurred.

Have you checked all the console's audio settings to make sure they have not changed? It sounds to me as if the party chat volume has been turned down or the mixer has been changed to reduce the volume (or something...I don't have my console on to check what settings are there)

i have checked the console audio settings and i haven't ever touched it, so doesn't make sense as to why it would all of a sudden stop working now. I have played around with the chat mixer, so i know for sure that isn't the issue as i have put the slider all the way across to the party leaving nothing on the game volume and i can either not hear my friends or ever so faintly. whereas if the slider is completely across all the way on the left, the game volume is incredibly loud.

When i put my turtle beach mic adapter in my controller, i can control the mixer from there, ad once again once the parties at full volume, i cant hear anything, as once its at full volume and you try to increase it even more it makes a beep noise to indicate to you that it is at max, whereas now even when i try put the party to full volume, that beep noise to indicate me that it is at full volume is also very quiet, whereas before it beeped loudly.

so im sure i do have the right settings for audio, but to clarify even more, if you could list all the setting ti should be on that would be great. but i have watched YouTube videos and applied all the recommended settings and have had a friend of mine sit in the party whilst i test each and every setting to see if i can hear him, or if he is loud.

Hi There, i have already done the controller update. before this i couldn't hear my friends however after this i can hear them ever so faintly, but this varies each time I turn the Xbox on. Before i use to always the the headset adapter which goes into the controller but when using that, its very quiet the game audio is loud but wen i make the part chat loud, the full volume is very quiet and i cant hear. so now i have to use without the adapter in order to hear alittle bit. so i just dont know what has happened and what i need to do.

i have also, hard reset my xbox by holding the off button but this hasnt made a difference either, i have also now just unplugged the xbox and havens plugged it back in yet, so i will check if that works. but im not sure as to what the actual issue is.

Thank you so much for that unplugging the console and plugging it back in will be the next option.

As of the moment, we need to test it out still, if you have a different controller that we can try and use that would be great.
