Parental restrictions while not in a family

I have just gotten Xbox Game Pass for my computer and when I was trying to install a game marked 17+ I was met with parental restrictions. I am over 17, and when I go to the family tab on my Microsoft account it does not show I am in a family. Is there any way to get out of this?

In order to fix your issue, you will need to first check your date of birth on your Microsoft account. If it shows that you are under 18, you will need to add yourself to a Microsoft family as a child with a parent account that can manage your restrictions.

You should be able to create a parent account and then add the child account to the family. Then the parent account can adjust the privacy settings and restrictions.

There is no pass code for purchases. However if your son has a child account you can use the Family Settings/Parental Settings to restrict what he is able to do while on XBL.
