    Parent/Child account game purchases

I purchased an xbox bundle for my son but he cannot see the game that came with it - I assume since that purchase is tied to my Microsoft account. My younger child - who is still under the parent/child tied accounts - CAN see the game (on a different xbox unit).

Is it possible to transfer that game purchase to the appropriate child's account? Or will I just "own" the game from now on (even though I don't play on xbox).

And what happens when my younger son ages out of the parent/child thing in a couple months? Will he no longer see that game either?

    :)

Microsoft Store/Game Pass Ultimate and Family

The issue here seem to be regarding the use of the child's account in relation to the parent account. Do you both have MS accounts? Are they related as child and parent account? Did you purchased the game on the MS store?

Setting screen time for adults/parent accounts

It is my understanding that the child accounts I have setup for my kids will transfer to adult accounts when they turn 18. This means their achievements and games purchased with the child account will now be a normal adult account.

For example, I have XXX24 setup as the parent account with child accounts YYY24 and YYY25. When YYY24 turns 18 the account is now removed from being a child account attached to XXX24 and is now a standard account keeping the gamertag YYY24 and all achievements
and digital games purchased with that account. Someday when my kid "YYY24" has their own kids it will be a parent account with new child accounts under it.

The only difference between a Parent Account and a Child Account is that one resides under the other. With the right settings, a Child Account can have the same unrestricted access as the Parent Account. My oldest child does not have any restrictions on
their account so it really is similar to a standard account.

Can't purchase free gold game. Your account is unable to make this type of purchase

    Adult account can buy anything

Child accounts cannot make 360 purchases regardless of parental permissions from the web

You must use a 360 console if a child account or a parental account has to make the purchase

    xbox live gold

Have you set up a family account for yourself and the child that has XBL Gold (ie parent account with Gold, Child 1 has access as defined by parent account)? This would be best to control unauthorized purchases but would limit game sharing as only the Parent
account would be able to play on the non Home console.

If you haven't created a Family and have simply purchased XBL Gold for Child 1 then you can share that with Child 2 by game sharing:

    • The console that Child 2 uses should be set as the Home console for Child 1 account
    • The Child 1 account would download the applicable games to both consoles
    • The Child 1 account would use the non Home console while logged in with his XBL account
    • I recommend setting a custom pass code on purchases if you don't want unauthorized purchases made if you have added your CC to the console.

    XBOX Game Pass Parental Controls

    Hello UnknitBuzzard21,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to purchase Xbox Game Pass on your son's account due to account restrictions. Is your son playing on an Xbox One or Xbox 360? A child account may have it's ability to
purchase items restricted by a parent account. You must have a parent account and

put the child account in a family. Once the child account has been added to the family, you can go to the

online privacy & online safety settings
with the parent account and allow the child to complete a purchase. After the purchase is completed, you can log back in to the online privacy & online safety settings with the parent account and restrict any purchases
    again. We hope this helps!
