Pairing controller with phone

Try turning the phone off and on again, look at the devices to pair again.

Do you have the Bluetooth controller? It's designed different from the original Xbox One controllers.

I did hold the bluetooth button till the light started to blink but it gave no effect

Make sure you hold the pairing button on your controller until the Xbox light (circle button) starts to blink. Then, start the scan on your phone to scan for Bluetooth devices.

I would recommend trying a different phone or controller if you can to help narrow down the issue between the phone or controller itself.

You may have an older controller that doesn't have bluetooth functionality. If yours does have BT then this page should help:
