Paid for minecraft on Xbox360 trying to download in Xbox One

Do I need to pay for minecraft again? I hope not, that would be messed-up as that would be like backwards compatible. Can someone advise me? How to re-download on Xbox one?

price upgrade issues

I have this same problem. Many of my Minecraft XBO add-ons are full price even though I paid for them on XBox360

 

Unable to download games from xbox gold.

Xbox360 200gig and 500 gig. I can download paid for content, I just can't download anything from Xbox gold's free games. This is since the last update last month. Our Xbox one doesn't have this problem.

 

Since that game is not a backwards compatible game, you would need to purchase the One version in order to play on the One.

It figures, literally for MS $$$$$$$$ so much for "don't worry backwards compatibility for your current installed games will be available " not actual quote but I remember them making it a point.

 

It's actually up to the developers on if there is a free upgrade or not. There was for Minecraft for a while, but it expired a while ago.

 

Xbox had several promotions regarding Minecraft on Xbox 360 and getting the digital copy for Xbox One if you purchased it on Xbox 360 if you purchased your game digitally during this game promotional. The game should show up in your ready to install games
on Xbox One

That refers to a promotion where you can get the Xbox One version for $5 if you owned the 360 version that is old but apparently it still works for some people and if it does not show up for you you can contact Microsoft and apparently they can do it for
you in most cases so please give that a try
