Discus and support Paid for but able to play in XBoX Sales and Promo to solve the problem; No idea where to go to get the help. But here is my issue.     No idea where to go to get the help. But here is my issue.

    I bought and paid for the Gears of War backwards compatible download from the xbox store for 4.99 during the July 50-60% percent sale. It's downloaded but now it won't let me play. It says I don't not have rights to play and I would need to buy for 14.99.
    No I paid for it and would like what I paid for.

    Sorry to hear about the trouble accessing your purchased games. To start out, let's have you

    remove your profile
    from your Xbox One, power cycle (hold down the power button for 8-10 seconds), and then add your profile back.

    Once your profile is added back, check under Games & Apps for the games to see if they're available for download. If you're still having trouble accessing them, let's get you in contact with
    Phone/Chat support to take a peek into your game licenses to see if they can help clear this up. Keep us looped in with how it gies Paid for but able to play :)

    We understand that you have change your username for your Microsoft account that was used to sign into Minecraft and the changes did not effect. Let us check on this together and sort this out. Rest assured, we will do anything in our capability to assist you with your concern.

    If I may ask, what Minecraft version you have purchased? Is it Minecraft for Windows, or Minecraft Java Edition? Have you migrated your Mojang account to Microsoft account? If you have already migrated your account, use your Microsoft account to sign into Minecraft.

    For Minecraft: Java Edition, users who have a Microsoft account can change their username for free at Log in | Minecraft. Navigate to My games and select the Minecraft: Java Edition dropdown box or you may refer to this link: Minecraft: Java Edition Username VS Gamertag FAQ – Home

    As per your description, after changing the username and sign in the account, it seems that you do not own the game. Have you tried to sign in the account with old username to check if you can play with Minecraft just fine? That is to check if changing username with the version you have purchased is permitted. If you can sign in the old account with the old username and able to play the game, it would mean that changing the username of the version of Minecraft you have is not applicable.
