    Overcomplicated Portables


    Honestly, I don't where to say this where it will get traction and I don't have followers even into the tens of people, but how hard is it to make a Portable Console in the same vein of Nintendo Switch. Xbox and Microsoft has the ability to capitalize where Playstation failed. Cloud Gaming is not the immediate future for everyone, so just create a Portable Console that allows me to download a game or 2 and take them with me from my Existing Library. That's literally it. If I have more time to complete the games in my Library, then I'll be incline to buy more games that I probably wouldn't have bought before, but were slightly interested. I'm 31 and I've spent the last month replaying Fallout 3. In 2013 I beat Fallout 3 in a month. Bring the Adults back to gaming who really want to make time for it. Alright. That's my Soapbox. I feel better now.

    The market for portables is very small outside of Nintendo, and has a gigantic piracy problem, it is unlikely that anyone else will enter that category, given the decades of failure. Sony has far greater market penetration in most of the world, and they failed, twice, with good hardware.

    They already several steam deck style portables like the ROG ally that will play game pass PC games and access the cloud

    Not every Xbox Console game is a play anywhere game. My entire Console Library won't transfer over to the PC. So the ROG and Steam Deck does nothing for people like me. And that also means there's no incentive to migrate to PC if you have the big 3 Consoles on the market.

    It's not about having a Microsoft branded device, it's about making something that makes sense after Sony plans to release the lackluster Playstation Portal. A device that has little to no sense when it comes to Microsofts Cloud Gaming. Again though, not everyone can have seamless cloud gaming.
