Original Xbox One With Lifetime Game Pass??

Hello, I found a original Xbox One Console at a thrift store several months ago and it seems to have lifetime game pass because once I signed into it I am able to download games from game pass without having a game pass subscription on my account. It is specific to this console because when I signed in to a series X I had no game pass subscription. I am just curious to why this specific console has unlimited game pass tied to the console hardware.

That would mean the original owner left the console as their Home console which is essentially allowing you to share their subscription. You will lose access if they stop paying for the subscription or if they change their Home setting.

A factory reset won't change the Home setting and removing an account from a console doesn't remove the Home setting either.

I did a factory reset when I first got the console. No other accounts were signed in even when I first got the console.

Actually 2 so far as I know. I can't remember who it was on youtube but Major Nelson went to his house and gave him an Xbox One along with a lifetime membership as well.

However, in all the years that I've been on live (since the original console) I have never heard of a lifetime membership being sold.

OP, if you purchased what you thought was a lifetime membership from retailer you should revisit that purchase.
