    So I own an original xbox and recently whenever I try to play a game whenever i insert the disc to be read, it makes a weird almost grinding noise on the interior, but the weird thing is, that it would read certain discs but not read others at all with others
    I was wondering if there’s anything I could do.

    For example, when I try to play ‘Jet Set Radio Future’, it reads perfectly and plays normally, but with ‘The Sims Bustin’ Out’ it will make the grinding sound and say that the disc is damaged or dirty and stay that way. Any kind of help would be appreciated!

    Problem is though, both of those games are backwards compatable. The only thing I can think of is, the guy on Ebay sold him the PAL versions.

    The 360 can only support some Original Xbox Games, those games musn't be part of the compatible games list unfortunately.

    Though it could always messed up discs.

    I have noticed that some original Xbox games give that error and if you try again it will boot normally. Some times it may take more than one attempt to get the game to boot up. That is about the best advice I can give.
