Ordering series x through pilot program

Did you sign up for the Console Purchase Pilot through the Xbox Insider Hub like the article that you linked says to?

"If you’re interested in potentially buying an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, you’ll need to hop into the Xbox Insider Hub and sign up for the Console Purchase Pilot through there. Good news if you signed up last time and weren’t selected: Microsoft says that you’ve already opted into this round and won’t need to do anything for the chance to be selected again."

Yesterday when starting my XBox Series X I got a notification that Time Pilot is ready to be started. I had it installed previously, but couldn't play it (see above).

Because of the notification I tried to start it again and now it works!! I can start and play Time Pilot now on the XBox Series X and the problem is fixed for me.

Maybe the problem is fixed for the other games too. Please check them.

Someone I know pre ordered their Series X through Microsoft and said he got 499 Rewards points for it.

I have the same problem for Time Pilot. When I start my old XBox 360 I can play Time Pilot without a problem and I can also redownload it. But when I start my new XBox Series X and look in the store for Time Pilot I have to pay 4,79 Euro. Please solve this problem Microsoft.

The backwards compatibility program is on hold while Microsoft finishes production of the Xbox Series X. Xbox posted on their Twitter account some exciting news about back comp program for the Series X.
