OpenJDK Platform Binary Using 100% CPU

    Hello,

Whenever I open games on PC similar to Pummel Party, Subnautica, or Cyberpunk2077 my fans run at 100% because the CPU is being used at 100% from the OpenJDK Platform Binary application. Games like League of Legends, Minecraft, and GTA V don't cause such resource usage. If anyone has any idea what is happening, I'd appreciate the help.

    Windows 10

Latest version of Java updated and reinstalled

    i7 CPU

    RTX 2070 GPU

    :)

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.
My name is Georges C. welcome to the community.

Hello Legiet, I did some research on the issue, it seems to me that it has to do with the fact of using Java oracle, I leave below some things I found.

So basically it's just a part of Java code and there's nothing I can do about it or is there a different version of Java that I can download that doesn't act this way.

Minecraft Java not launching (any more)

Thanks for the screenshot. That confirms Minecraft is technically launching, as your computer is running the Java process ("OpenJDK Platform binary" using 11% CPU), but the game window isn’t showing up.

This usually means Minecraft is running in the background, but something is preventing it from displaying properly—most likely your graphics settings or how Java is configured.

Are you using any mods or custom launch settings?

    Try this:

    1. Open the Minecraft Launcher.

    2. Click on "Installations" at the top.

    3. Hover over the latest version (it should say something like "Latest release"), click the three dots, then select "Edit".

    4. Check that there are no extra Java arguments entered at the bottom.

    5. Launch that version and see if it works.

Metro exodus using 100% cpu not using gpu

    Hi, there is some solutions.

    1) Disable your integrated gpu through the bios and make sure that your display connected to nvidia card not motherboard igpu port.

    2) Create global settings to Metro exodus through nvidia control panel. Make sure your drivers not outdated. (Including bios)

    3) If this not help, try to switch compability to Windows 7 on metro exodus.

    4) Try to play with administrative permissions and registry options.

    5) Just try to write at Metro Tech support forum page. This will help 100%

Some players wrote that reinstalling windows and all drivers will help but i think this is not a solution.

Can you write tech specs of your computer please?

    Have a good day :)
