ONLY the messenger app does not work

It seems to be related to network connectivity.

-I can do everything else on my console with no problems. Play games, join parties, send and receive game invites, etc.

BUT

-I can't receive messages, they never arrive.

-I can't send messages, they fail.

-The messages sidebar on the home screen only says: "We can't get all of your messages right now. Check back later."

Relevant information:

-I have a DNS content filter on my router, I had my network administrator whitelist the following:

-live.com

-microsoft.com

-msn.com

-xbox.com

-xboxlive.com

....and everything on Xbox works just fine... except messages.

So what I want to know:

-does the Messenger app have a unique domain name (EG: message.xbox.com) that I need to whitelist on the DNS?

-does it use any unique ports that need to be opened?

-Do Xbox messages have a problem with OpenDNS?

Hello,

Did you add the chat bot on Windows Live Messenger? Don't use any mobile windows live messenger app or skype, skype doesn't work at all and the mobile apps don't either. If you have added the bot on messenger or requested, if it doesn't respond in the next
48 hours you need to contact the ambassador program managers.

Won't connect to Netflix

Has anyone had any trouble connecting your Xbox to Netflix app just keeps kicking off. And messenger won't work either

Did you add the chat bot on Windows Live Messenger? Don't use any mobile windows live messenger app or skype, skype doesn't work at all and the mobile apps don't either. If you have added the bot on messenger or requested, if it doesn't respond in the next

I haven't used any messenger apps. I do use the iloveim website on my work computer though as my lame university has Windows Live Messenger blocked for some reason.

I'll keep using that, but I won't use that Windows Live ID for anything important in the future and just use it for e-mail and messenger. Well, I didn't notice that hotmail has a web messenger feature now. Maybe I should try that out. If that works I
can ditch the iloveim site.

I know a key board works with Messenger and now Internet Explorer. I do not know for sure if a mouse does.
