Online privacy settings issue for Windows 10

I try to login in to my xbox account online (which sometimes doesn't work) so that I can change my online safety settings. I want to change my setting so that I can join a club in Forza Horizon 4. So I change it so that I can join clubs and hit submit,
but half of the time it just doesn't work and the other half I get an "unexpected error" notice. What's the deal?

I usually use chrome so I switched to Microsoft Edge to check if it worked. I had the exact same issue.

 

When you go to
https://account.xbox.com/settings and sign in there, do you see a page with different settings, or do you get an explanation about adding a child/teen account to a parent account?

If you have an account that, according to the birthdate entered during it's creation, is not 18 years old yet, you will have to ask a parent to add your account to their adult account, and then make the necessary changes for you.

My account is for me, so its not an "under 18 year old" account. So I don't see anything about adding a child/teen account or anything like that. It's just standard settings and it doesn't work...

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about the current issue with not being able to join a club due to account
configuration on a PC. Recently there have been a lot of posts regarding not being able to join a club.
We have already informed our engineers.
We are aware of the issue and are gathering as much data on this issue as possible to find a resolution for everyone. We will provide an update as soon as possible.




For now try to sign into another Microsoft account, then add the first account as an "Adult" family member. From there, change the settings. Also,
please try another device to see if it is possible to change the Online
Safety and Privacy Settings like a phone, tablet, etc.
