Online gaming for children under 10

Hi there

I purchased Minecraft Dungeons for my kids to play with one another (i.e. multiplayer) on the PC.

When I go to set it to online mode I get the following message, "cannot play due to being online play restricted". I assume that this is because the account I purchased this under is a Microsoft child account. However, when I go into settings I can only find online gaming settings for Xbox not for PC.

Two Qs:

- Where are settings to allow kids to play online for PC?

- If there are no such settings (and seriously, why on earth not???) is there a workaround so that I can retain control over my kids account but allow them to play with one another?

Microsoft has an excellent app that will also let you control your kids gaming time, approve purchases and other things with your Xbox family, which includes PC. Xbox is all Microsoft gaming

The account of your child should be added as a member of the family account.

To be honest with you, since it's a child account, you won't be able to see the page for the settings.

No worries, all you need to do is to add that account to a family account so you can change the settings using the adult account. Here's how to add your account under a family account.

I have played it for a short amount of time before, and no longer have the game. And it is definitely NOT a game for children. I would not recommend it to anyone under the age of 18, Yet there are parents out there letting children as young as 10 (or at
least that is what I see often) play this game 24/7, skipping school and not taking breaks. I find it irresponsible, but do what you like.
