Hi, I have a 360 and one of my friends wants to play Elite Dangerous online, but he has a 'One'. Can I play with her if I am using a 360 disc and she a 'One' disc?

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. In regards to playing backward compatible games together on separate consoles, as long as the game is backward compatible then you would be able to play together.

The Xbox One has to be online to install Xbox 360 games, even if you have the disc for the Xbox 360 game in the Xbox One.

If you are playing an Xbox 360 game through the Xbox One's backward compatibility feature, you are able to play it online.

While playing the Xbox 360 game online, players on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles would populate the same servers and lobbies.

As a sidenote, the Xbox 360 version of GTA V is currently NOT backward compatible with the Xbox One.

You would have to be playing the game on the One as well in order to play online with him. It's only possible to play online cross-platform if it's a 360 game that is backwards compatible on the One.
