Online Friends and messages not appearing on Xbox app, and Xbox game bar

It appears that the game bar is looking for the app on your PC. It doesn't go to cloud gaming anymore. I hope it is a bug in the Game Bar/Xbox app/

I believe they're remove Party from the companion app and moving it to the Xbox Game Bar (Win+G). Once you open Game Bar be sure to check if the option to receive Xbox One party/game invites is turned on.

To start a party on Game Bar, you'll have to create a new message and add friends in it and click on the Headset icon on the top right.

Hey! I just had a similar issue and heres the steps i took that fixed this,

I opened the xbox app, not the game bar.

i signed out of my microsoft account from there, as well as signing out on the game bar

I signed back in and opened the game bar after

And boom my friends list was appearing again!

To message a player that isn't in your friends list on the Xbox App you can go to Friends and then there should be a search bar where you can type the gamertag and then it will take you to their profile. From there you click/tap the message button.

We understand that you're having trouble accepting the club invitation on Xbox.com. The 403-error message usually indicates that you don't have the necessary permissions to access the page. This accepting of party issue could be an account related to your account privacy settings.



To resolve this issue, you can seek help to your parent/organizer of Microsoft family group you are part of to set your privacy for the club and party. Guide: Manage Xbox online safety and privacy settings | Xbox Support.

You can also try accepting the invitation from your Xbox console, if you have one.



Aside from the Xbox PC App, the Clubs feature has been integrated into the new Xbox Game bar. To access it, press Windows logo key and G, this will launch Xbox Game Bar. On the Widget menu choose Xbox Social. Check the party you are invited in or start a party.

You may also try to start a party by using the Xbox app:

1. Launch Xbox app for Windows to open the app.
   
2. Expand the Friends tab, and then select Start a party.
   
3. Choose which friends that you want to invite to the party, and then select Start a party. Your invite will appear as a notification to the friends that you selected. As they join, they’ll appear in your party list.
