    Just purchased Xbox live gold for the year, and attempting to play gta5 and keep getting message: your profile does not have permission to access gta online. Help ...what do I need to do?

    whenever my son tries to go live and play M of H or another comat game, the system tells him his gamertag cannot access this content. HELP!!!!

    that is because DirectorFern02 is a silver account a gold account is needed to play online on any online play 360 game.

    Hi Heather,

    I'm sorry to hear this is happening. It seems to be that we just need to refresh the console so it detects that you've renewed your Xbox Live Gold membership. If you're on the Xbox One let's try to clear your MAC address.

    To clear the alternate MAC address(Network cache)on the Xbox One console follow these steps:

    • Go toSettings
    • Select Network > Network Settings
    • Select the Advanced Settings
    • Next choose the Alternate MAC Address
    • Select clear and restart



    Let us know how it goes!

    We thank you for bringing this inquiry to our forums community, and understand that you're experiencing an inability to access GTA Online from within GTA V on your Xbox One console.

    There is currently an active service alert involving Social and Gaming which may be the reason for this error besides not having an active
    Xbox Live membership which is needed in order to access online features.

    We recommend attempting a power cycle on your Xbox One console as a general troubleshooting step to attempt resolving the
    issue.
