One Xbox login has overwritten default Microsoft account on laptop

Please help - I have an irate aged parent and a terrified teenager!! My son signed into his XBox account on his grandpa's laptop and has managed to change all the Microsoft account settings to his profile. We are really struggling to undo this. My son's
account now also seems to be the administrator on the laptop. I'm presuming there would have been a warning about this which he has misunderstood or ignored not realising the impact. How can we amend all this please?

Merging Xbox Live and Microsoft accounts

My Xbox Live account has always been independent of my Microsoft account due to my laptop forcing me to have my login password the same as my microsoft account password. The email that I used for my xbox live account is a deactivated old email that I used
to have. How can I port the xbox live profile over to my newer microsoft account? When I try to change the email through the old account here on xbox live (through the website and not the xbox one itself) it says that the email is already taken. I don't want
to delete my new microsoft account because it's got all of my laptop login info. And I don't want to delete my old xbox live profile because I've got game progress saved up on it. Now strangely enough I was able to change the email on my old 360 account but
I can't for the Xbox One. Any help please!

We can definitely get this squared away but we will need a little bit more information. Is the original account information (email and password) known? If so the answer is to simply sign back into the original account. Let us know so we can further assist

Hello, can i check something please? The XBox app had never previously been used & so therefore didnt previously have any account associat e d with it. The main account has my dads name still on it, but my son's email and settings are listed under that.

Where should my dad sign back in?

Or is there a reset to Tuesday's settings option?
