One x: failing during verification of offline system update

Hello everyone, I'm having some very annoying issues with my Xbox. It was purchased second hand and when I booted it up it started "preparing the console" which then gave me the error code E106 xxxxxx. I found the "solution" to that issue online by downloading the update and installing it via a USB, HOWEVER the system never makes it through the entire 3 step process and always fails during verification (around 30%) and gives me the same error message as before, E106. I've tried factory resetting the console from the safe mode menu and every other option that I have without actually being able to boot to the console. Are there any solutions or am I just screwed out of $100? I'm going to try replacing the hard drive and seeing if that does anything but I'm not too hopeful. If anyone has any tips or solutions it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The system update that is trying to install is failing validation during the system update file verification.

Solution:

To resolve this issue, you will need to install the Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool.

It absolutely was. Taking the console apart was pretty straightforward, only hard part was properly formatting the new drive. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
