One s issues with update

Hi,

I have 2 one s consoles who h have developed the same issue within days of each other which seems a bit suss to me.

Both said update required to play online but the update keeps failing and saying 'check connection' both consoles are hardwired, I've also tried wireless. It says connected but every time you try the update it fails and guides you to the network connection settings. One console has signed out my son and I can't even sign back in, the loading icon just spins and then it just goes back to home screen after 5mins.

Any ideas??

Connect the console trough a mobile hotspot to perform the update.

Finally you could try this:

First, power down your console fully and remove the power and network cables for at least 30 seconds. Plug the power cable back in and follow these steps:

Step 1: Hold down the Eject and Bind buttons on your console.

The Eject button is on the front of the original Xbox One console right next to the disk drive, while the Bind button is on the left side, directly adjacent to the disk drive, with a symbol that looks like “)))” on it. Note that on the Xbox One X and Xbox One S, both buttons are on the front of the console, with the Bind button sitting directly beneath the Xbox button on the right edge. The Xbox One S Digital doesn’t have an Eject button, so the Bind and Xbox buttons will do the trick. Once you are holding both buttons, press the Xbox (power) button on the front of the console.

Step 2: Release the Xbox button, but continue holding the Eject and Bind buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two tones before releasing these buttons. The Xbox Startup Troubleshooter will appear shortly after.

Step 3: Select Reset This Xbox from the settings and proceed with the factory reset.

I'm in the preview program and haven't had any issues with my S so far with the latest update. Hopefully it'll be released to the public soon, my brother's One S is having some serious internet issues, both wireless and cat7. I'm beginning to think the One
S may have a rushed network card, and therefore, a faulty one. The next update should she'd some light on this.

I got an update on my LG which is an UH8500. This update fixed the issue. No update on Xbox One S so that suggests it's an LG problem and not an Xbox issue...Bombard LG with this, it appears to be their fault...

I'm having the same issue when updating my Xbox One S devkit.

No scam involved with releasing the One S a year or so later after the Xbox One.

Ive not had any issues with either the Xbox One or the One S, in fact I'm quite happy.

Games do need internet access to update, maybe this is the issue or maybe it isn't.
