One possible reason for no info on ESO console release...

So I was recently contacted by ZOS & ESO. Apparently the reason for the delay in the console version is this:

Dear ,

Thank you for your recent inquiry to the console release date for ESO. We understand you are all very excited & would like to get to adventuring in Tamriel. We regret to inform you that as of today there are no plans to release the XBox One version
of ESO any time soon. Our programmers & delevopers have been having an extremely difficult time tracking down the source of the problem & we do believe we have discovered it. Apparently the non-essential NPC's in ESO are familiar with your treatment of the
non-essential NPC's in Skyrim, Oblivion, & Morrowwind and they refuse to put their lives at risk. We have tried combing other games to recruit more non-essential NPC's for ESO but so far have only been able to enlist 14 grunts from the Halo series, Belathor
from Skyrim (although you tried to kill him 193 times), the dog from Duck Hunt, & **** from the Borderland series (he needs a job real bad).

So as you can see, the world of ESO will be quite empty until we can hire some more non-essential NPC's & due to your unsavory reputation in our previous games this is proving to be rather difficult. Congratulations , your calous treatment
of our non-essential NPC's in our previos games has ruined it for everyone.

I need help

The reason the items were locked is you are not charged for the purchase until the bundle's release date. You could have canceled your pre-order at anytime until then. If you were hoping to play the main game before Morrowind's release then you should have
purchased ESO separately and then preordered the Morrowind expansion.

That way you are immediately paying for ESO and then not charged for Morrowind until release.

 

E3 Wishes?

I don't think we're be seeing an elder scrolls game just yet, what with ESO being released last year, and zenimax and bethesda being in the same stable, plus the ESO console release is next month. They might want to milk ESO for a while

 

Lol. Don't worry once they get the PC crowd smoothed over they will be stocking the shelves with the console version you can count on it.

 

That is so funny. I knew someone was using unnecessary roughness on the NPCs. Poor guys, limping along with a gimpy knee looking for a reason to live, wanting a good bandit raid and someone just lets them have it in the other knee. tsk, tsk.

Hey, can I preen a bit? I have 4 awesomes and 2 lols on the TESO forum and I don't post much because I can't let them know I don't actually have a PC copy of the game. I did post on the threads about the console versions though. My id over there is Moonscythe.

 

Guess I should post of the official forums as well. I just don't like the layout of them though. Too many categories and sub-forums. The Xbox forums aren't much better but at least you can just go to one forum for each game. I signed up at Tamriel Foundry
but didn't get a confirmation email so meh.

 

Have you seen the latest? There was a mention on the support forum in answer to a release date question that said June was out of the question and it would probably be Christmas but then was quickly taken down. Since it was a leak on the official site, hopefully
that will force an official announcement with some meat attached.

As I said, I don't post much on the official forum but skim through it looking for general stuff. It's actually pretty negative and angsty; not helpful at all. Plus they haven't really split the categories very well. The only general discussion is in the
players helping players category. It's not a well developed forum.

 

I just went over there to talk a bit on their forums and then then I seen the official news come up in developer discussion. Consoles have been delayed.

Oh my god.....what have I done.....

 

I was excited for the release, and I don't get excited about the release of games. I'm just a fan of the series. Is it worth getting the PC version? I recently purchased the XB1 Titanfall bundle and Ryse with the intent that I would be occupied until June,
nope - already beat both games...to included that now we have to wait another 6 months.

 

I brought a Xbox One recently too and I only log onto it now and then to play a bit of Titanfall. The PC version of ESO is fine it just has a few bugs here and there but overall its one of the best mmos I have played and I played WoW and SWtOR for years.
I have found a Australian based guild that suits my timezone as well so I'm happy on PC atm.

 

Thanks Chemist, considering that you've played two of my favorite mmo titles and you're satisfied, on top of the offer to be able to port my character over later and get the game cheaper on the console; I think that I will get the PC version...TODAY!!!
