One email on two accounts. Main account lost

I have this account that I used when I was younger. I tried putting my account on a different xbox but accidentally created a different account with the same email address. I have never been able to sign in to my original account. Trying to change my password only changed for the second account. I recently lost my original account with all games, progress, and purchases, and unsuccessfully tried logging back in. I can try to give you more details if you want to help (which would be very appreciated). Does anyone have an idea how I can get my original account back?

Thank you for contacting the Xbox support forums. Typically to recover accounts, you will need access to the email that is associated with the account. It should not be possible to create an account with the same email address unless enough time has passed causing your original account to deactivate or the account was mistakenly deleted.

Please provide the agents information regarding the email that was used for the account and the gamertag used for both.

On my Xbox i iave two accounts under one email so when i log in on something else there is no option to choose an account the new one has somehow turned into the main one.

I understand. Thank you for the additional information. Technically, you have two Microsoft accounts with two different Xbox profiles. Please note that email notifications can be changed or set to your preference and not necessarily be the primary email address of your account.

I suggest that you try to login your other email addresses to the Microsoft website to check if your main Xbox profile was linked to one of them.

Also, when was the last time you were able to access your main Xbox account?

Whoah! That's always a little surprising. Generally in these cases what happened was that a person created two accounts- one with one email, and another with a different. But no worries! You can find the email on your main account using the steps on

Put on one console the account that has the game as the main account, and on the other console the other account as the main account, in both consoles enter the two accounts, but only one as the main account, the other account that does not have the game
logs into the main account. and you can download the game.
