On windows xbox app, whenever I launch a game, xbox game services starts updating itself...

I reinstalled via settings and I kept my personal files.

I tried disabling automatic updates.

I tried installing Insider Hub App but it stuck on updating.





I click on install, it installs, it restarts itself then same window appears. It wants to be updated againg. When I check on windows store i see it paused. I click on it, it starts again, but it never installs.

One of the solutions i tried earlier was saying "take ownership of windowsapp folder and delete the remaining files of gaming services". I did so, Could it have caused a problem?

Edit: My uninstaller says there is two app installer. I don't know why.

May I know how did you reinstalled windows?
Via settings or how?

In the meantime, did you tried disabling automatic updates on the Microsoft store?
And, are you part of the windows gaming program? (If you’re not sure please download the Insider Hub app and check there)

Hi, I think that worth it format all your drives when you re-do the custom installation (make sure to backup the important files on the cloud before that)

Also, if you’re able to install Windows 11, worth it install that system instead of 10.

And another thing that worth verify is check if you’re enrolled in the insiders program and leave it if necessary :

Hi, I'm out of ideas. I gave my whole day to be able to play games on xbox. It's 3 a.m here. I guess I'll try custom installation. I did custom installation before specifically for this problem. It kinda solved my problem. But what if this problem raises again like this time? Will I have to do a custom installation again?

If maybe that doesn’t help please try performing a custom windows reinstallation
In some cases, depending of the corruption the restore via windows settings doesn’t work as expected

You can recover personal files later, inside the tutorial you can find how to do it (but basically is copy / paste the files inside the windows.old folder)
